Thanks so much for stopping by!

Before you peruse the music below,
please allow me to say a few words:

These are strange times for an independent artist like myself. The traditional record store that I've always loved discovering and buying music in is an increasingly endangered species, as is the format of music media that I've walked out of these stores with- the compact disc. I could probably spend more than a paragraph or two waxing nostalgic for earlier, simpler times of mixtapes, lyric books, and folks with LP-length attention spans, but I'd rather look forward.

I find myself both amazed at the wonderful opportunities afforded by the new digital realm of distribution, and also a bit worried about how best to get my music into the ears that want it. The options extended to the average music consumer today are dizzying. Though prominent and well-liked, Itunes is hardly alone in the field of digital stores. In order to maintain some sort of commercial presence at a few of them at once, I've chosen to use CD Baby, a Portland-based distribution house specializing in meeting the needs of the thousands of independent artists like myself. The system is hardly perfect, but they do a pretty good job of getting my stuff out there on the web.

Visit the Site Store for a constantly updated list, and do let me know if I've missed something.
I've also been told by several people that they've been introduced to my music through Pandora, which seems like a pretty cool service, as does Last.fm.

If anyone has any suggestions about outlets for downloadable music that you'd like to see carry my albums, please let me know. That's really what I'm interested in here- finding out where you like to buy music nowadays.

There is a greater concern growing in the independent music community, and rather than sound off on it myself, I'd like to refer you to a piece written by a colleague (whom, incidentally, I don't know personally) that pretty well covers it. This stuff is definitely on my mind these days as I struggle to get yet another CD made on my own and ponder what place in the world it might have.

I'd like to wrap up this little spiel the right way, by offering my humblest and most sincere thanks to those of you who do value music, and who have supported my work by purchasing it and recommending it to others. It means the world and doesn't go unnoticed.
