The first time I played Akron Ohio I had the good fortune to share a stage with Pat Sweany, one of the most gifted musicians I've ever seen or heard. His record Henry Ford Bedroom became a constant traveling companion over the last few years and, at just about any given moment on the tour I did with Jared in '06 you could catch one or both of us joyfully singing 'Smokestacks' with the windows rolled down. One night in the studio we were sitting around singing songs after a long day, just unwinding, and I started playing the song. Fifteen minutes later it was recorded and done. My first cover!
